When adventurous European sailors set up home in the spice islands they transformed their luggage into furniture. Campaign chests and steamer trunks provided distinctive and stylish storage. In the process, they created a unique and lasting style of furniture that combined exotic maritime motifs with rugged durability. Stylish frames are finished with distinctive metal accents and feature skillfully woven rattan panels. Each piece is completed with a hand-rubbed pecan finish. |
